What is Rheumatism?

Rheumatism is not a specific medical condition but the term used to describe symptoms of pain and inflammation in joints, muscles and connective (soft) tissue. As well as pain and swelling the sufferer may also experience stiffness of joints and limited movement in the affected limb or joint.

Although rheumatism can affect any part of the body it most commonly affects knee, hip, back and neck joints.
